chevron and polka dot baby shower
well, hello there. i'll wait while you recover from the shock that i'm actually posting some designs here. on this design blog.
more friends are welcoming babies around here, and it's a must to celebrate mama with tons of loot before baby's arrival. this one's special because it's the first girl for me to snuggle since sweet p came along! can you believe?
baby's nursery is grey and lavender, with fun patterns like chevron, stripes, and polka dots, so we carried that over into the invites.
chevron on the front, polka dots on the back. and, if you look closely, the b (for baby bunting!) is die cut and pops off the invite for a dimensional effect.
continuing my love affair with wraparound labels, i've brought many a client over to the dark side, and this design was no different.
mama wanted thank you notes in chevron and polka dots to match.
for the shower, we created place cards for all the attendees in the same patterns.
the hostesses of the shower did an awesome job - check out the table - every shade of purple flower! so pretty!
how's that for a re-entry into design blogdom? oh, there'll be more where this came from. lookin' forward to showing you all the goods.
hosting a baby shower? having a baby? need something cute? i'm your gal - let's have a little chat!
*special thanks to baby's mama, who let me borrow her images of the shower.
need more inspiration? check out some other designs around the blog.

taking the plunge
'member this?
what'd you guess it was? were you thinking cannonball? maybe bride and groom? how about pool time? if you'd guessed any of those, you'd be on the right track, because it's all of the above, and it's from baby sister's save the date!
y'all, it might be the cutest dang thing evah. but, we can't take all the credit for the idea. whilespending all day stopping by pinterest one day, i came across this (using this link cuz the photog's blog keeps redirecting.) on baby sister's 'someday' board.
and, an idea was born! see, baby sister and her fiance both swam for the LSU tigers. so, seriously, how could they not do something similar? armed with dress and suit, all they needed was a pool and a photographer. well, lucky for them, our papacito just so happens to have a pool (in the perfect shade of blue) and one'a them fancy cameras that can take 4+ pics in like 2 seconds. (just a weensy important when water's involved!)
are y'all thinkin' 'quitcher yappin' and show us already!" ok, ok. here ya go...
was i right about cute? and, those pics couldn't have turned out better. these are first take, y'all! can you believe? let's take a closer look at those facial expressions.
pure giddiness right there, folks! kiddos are excited to be married! and, that cannonball picture might be pure perfection! i hope it gets framed!
now, if i'm being honest, there was a smoochy picture of the lovebirds that i reeeeealllly wanted baby sister to pick for the back, but alas, it's client's choice. we kept the back sweet and simple, leaving all the deets for their website. i love how it feels like a movie poster!
to ship them off, they got the wraparound treatment. i really don't know when i'll get tired of this label style.
see what one little idea can do? these maybe mighta been the easiest design i've ever done. i've said it before, and i'll say it again, good images make the best designs.
better give a shout out to the ol' man for takin' such fantastic pictures. (silly guy wanted credit on the save the date!)

will you be my bridesmaid?
guess what came in the mail last week??!!
i was so excited to get it, speshly since middle sissy got hers three whole days before me! excited because, 'member, i sent off the innards for baby sister to assemble herself. and, i couldn't wait to see it all done up. big, fat party in the mailbox right here!
everything was tucked in a yummy, metallic cream envelope wrapped with my favorite label style. 'to' on the front, 'from' on the back. (major tip here: you'd be surprised how often postage is underestimated, so weigh your finished project before you buy stamps and ship.)
baby sister personalized each card with a picture of each girly-girl, which slips easily out to use as a fridge reminder. adorable washi tape and matching ribbon holds it all together.
the inside gets dressed up with fun embellishments and more dang cute washi tape (um, the girl in the dress? sweet like sugar!). fun letters stamped in coordinating colors make sure no stone's left unturned (or, no envelope's left unopened).
can you say fun?? and, seriously, folks, when you get a labor of love this cutey-cute in the mail, how can you say no?
well, one thing's for sure, i'm definitely fulfilling my matronly duties...with honor!

charcoal & turquoise sparkly invites
i thought y'all maybe might wanna get a closer look at the sparkly invites from baby drew's sip and see. mama's got a love affair with grey right now, so i found some yummy charcoal paper and envelopes. and, to bring the ice and sparkle to our winter party, what better color but turquoise.
since we were partying happy hour style, i wanted the invite to portray that. so, a wine bottle and champagne glass for mama, and a bottle for baby - everyone's happy! the invites were mounted to the charcoal paper, then got some rhinestone bling. i cut a small square out of the back of the invite to show gift ideas (sorry, no peechure).
then, tucked it all in that yummy envelope and wrapped it in what might be my favorite label. the return address wraps around the back, and the invite jumps out of the mailbox, beggin' to be opened.
as you can see, i'm playing around with the pictures - trying to find something more crisp and modern. what do y'all think? what's your fave?
and, remember to come back wednesday for a tute on the cute favors.
