up in lights

have i hit the big time? my designs up in lights? well, in hobbs america, it would seem so! after i did this logo and branding of stationary, business cards, and stickers, they moved locations, and put up a big fancy bright lights sign.
isn't it purdy?? love.it! but, not as much as i love what they put inside.
doesn't it look like stained glass? i thought it was, but she says it's just a hard plastic. whatever it is, it's FAN.TAS.TIC!

if you're in or around hobbs (nm) america, stop in to bloom & say hi

bloom

busy as a bee

and, that's a VERY good thing! here's a glimpse of the goods that have been churning out of the workshop lately. i like posts like this; they're little pick-me-ups for me and proof to mr. man that i am actually working all day (my tan tends to raise questions around here. pshaw!)

i'd also like to take this time to thank all of you, my three readers, for all your support. when you tell me things like 'you're the best' and 'the world sucked when you weren't doing this', it is like a jolt for the self-esteem. i know i say it all the time, but you'll NEVER, never, ever know how much y'all coming back time and time again means to me. i love ya, man!

ok, enough mushy gushy. behold the latest and greatest.

we've had weddin's
babies being born (can we talk about how cute this is?! mama painted this hooty-cute owl art for baby's room, and i knew it had to be his announcement! LOVE it!)
babies being celebrated (oh, just you wait til you see all this stuff come together!)
babies being welcomed
people on the move
goods to be sold
and gifts to be given (i sure hope the farmer isn't readin' this, cause this is what i'm tuckin' in my suitcase for his birfday. maybe one day i'll tell ya all about their farm. or, you could just go to his blog and read first-hand. yea, do that. i'd get everything wrong anyway)

Logomania

I was having one of those weeks again where I was feeling unproductive, so I scanned my orders and realized it was because all the work I've done recently didn't involve me printing anything. All my work lately has been either web or logo design. You want to see, right?

I've already designed the Dynamic Edge logo, business card, postcards and web items, but this time, my client wanted t-shirts. Cute, huh?

I also updated a logo for a local construction company.

Then, I finished up my brother-in-law's Christmas gift. Yep, sister's hubby. They have a little (big) farm, and grow their own veggies, so they needed a logo.

And, finally, I whipped up a new blog header for a client, who happens to be one of my most loyal customers!

Phew, I don't feel so unproductive now. I can now look back on January and February and realize that yes, I did actually do quite a bit of work!

Recently

Some days I feel like I don't get much done, and then I stress out, and worry that I'm not blogging enough, marketing enough, doing enough. So, as I was looking through pictures to edit for the website, I realized I have actually gotten quite a bit done in the workshop recently.

In fact, I think I've designed something for almost any event or happening there is, and I know you'd love to see them, right?

There have been weddings
custom wedding invitations and custom save the dates
babies born (great idea here: they used the white space on the back to have the announcement double as a thank you note)

custom baby announcements
new addresses to announce
custom moving announcements and custom change of address
kiddo parties
custom birthday invitations and custom children birthday invitations
adult parties (kiddos can't have all the fun!)
custom adult party invitations or custom wine party invitations
new mommies (great way to keep your identity when you become a mom)
custom mommy cards or custom business cards

new business ventures
custom business logo and custom business stationary design
and gifts to give
custom handmade gifts or custom handmade mixed media canvases
Phew! Next time I'm feeling less than productive, I'll just head back here to feel better about myself!

The holidays are coming up - time to start thinking about your parties and cards. And, gifts. If you're looking for something custom, one-of-a-kind, let's have a little chat.

On Wings of Hope Gala

image source: Hope Heart Facebook Page

A few months ago, I designed a logo/theme for the 'On Wings of Hope' Rock & Roll Gala event here in Seattle. It was held at Showbox SoDo, featured a performance by Everclear, and raised money to support the Hope Heart Institute.

In addition to the logo, I designed Save the Dates, lanyards for everyone to wear, and thank you notes. And, they used the logo all over the event. A cupcake wrapper was even designed by one of the event's sponsors, Bella Cupcake Couture. (Check out her other stuff - so cute!)

I'm getting excited for next year's event!
